DEMATERIALISATION / TRANSPOSITION

The procedure to dematerialize i.e. to convert your physical certificates into Electronic mode are as follows:-

  • Verify the order of the names in the demat account and certificates.

  • But if the order of the joint holders in the certificates vary with the order with demat account then, a form called Transposition form can be submitted along with the “DRF”.

  • Check whether the scrip is available for dematerialization.

  • If the scrip is available for dematerialization, submit the share certificates along with a Dematerialization Request Form (DRF) duly signed by all the Demat account holders.

  • The certificates should be duly cancelled by writing "SURRENDERED FOR DEMATERIALIZATION"

For example if A and B hold a demat account and if the certificates are in the names of B and A, the shares can be dematerialised in the demat account of A and B
