- Check the order of the names mentioned in the demat account and certificates.
- If the order of the joint holders in the certificates vary with the order with demat account then, a form called Transposition Form should be submitted along with Dematerialization Request Form (DRF). Suppose A is the first holder and B is the second holder of the demat account but in the certificates B is the first holder and A is the second holder. In such events with Transposition Form the order of the account holder can be changed as A as the first holder and B is the second holder and vice versa.
- Confirm whether the scrip is available for dematerialization .
- If the scrip is available for dematerialization, submit the share certificates along with a DRF duly signed by all the Demat account holders.
- However, the certificates should be duly cancelled by writing "SURRENDERED FOR DEMATERIALIZATION"
