Jul 2 2025 5:07PM
Hyundai Motor India today announced that the Creta was the highest-selling car in the country in June 2025 at 15,786 units. The popular mid-size SUV was the best-selling model in India in March and April as well.

"The Creta is not just a product, it is an emotion for over 12 lakh Indian families. Over the last decade, brand Creta has consistently redefined the SUV space and remained a strong pillar of Hyundai's growth in India. Becoming the best-selling model in June 2025, exactly as it completes 10 years in the country, is a testament to the love and trust that Indian customers have placed in the brand. In fact, Hyundai Creta has been the highest-selling mid-size SUV in the country every completed year since its launch in 2015," said Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India.

Based in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, the Hyundai Creta rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.

"Such has been its impact that the segment is now fondly called the 'Creta segment', a true testament to the brand's leadership. As we look ahead, we remain committed to elevating customer experiences further and driving the future of mobility through innovation, safety, and sustainability," Garg noted.

The SUV is available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) avatars.

When it comes to the ICE version, there are three engine options -- 1.5-litre MPi petrol (115 PS and 144 Nm), 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol (160 PS and 253 Nm) and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel (116 PS and 250 Nm).

The transmission options include 6-speed MT and IVT automatic with the 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine, 7-speed DCT automatic with the 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol engine, and 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT with the 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine.

The Creta also has a performance-oriented avatar, the Creta N Line, which employs the 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol engine, having transmission options like 6-speed MT and 7-speed DCT.

The Creta Electric comes with two battery pack options -- 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. With the smaller battery pack, the SUV has a claimed range of 390 km. The bigger battery pack is good for a range of 473 km (claimed).

The standard Creta is priced between Rs 11.11 lakh and Rs 20.50 lakh, the Creta N Line between Rs 16.93 lakh and Rs 20.64 lakh, and the Creta Electric between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.38 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
