Asian Paints on July 29 reported 40% jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,539 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, helped by caliberated price hikes and cost discipline amid rising inflation stemming from the middle east war.  It reported consolidated net profit of Rs 1,100 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's revenue from operations rose 18% to Rs 10,542 crore in Q1FY27 as compared to Rs 8,939 crore in Q1FY26.

On a standalone basis, revenue from operations rose about 17% to Rs 9183.4 crore, while net profit jumped 34% to Rs 1,478.4 crore in the quarter ended June 30.

Brokerages had expected double-digit revenue growth (14-17%) but flat-to-declining margins on crude-oil-linked raw material inflation from the West Asia crisis. But price hikes and cost discipline measures implemented by the company,  helped it to beat margin estimates.

Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter stood at Rs 2,169 crore, a 33.5% growth compared to last year's figure of Rs 1,625 crore. The EBITDA was higher than  CNBC-TV18 poll expectation of Rs 1,870 crore.

Asian Paints' Q1 consolidated raw material costs rose 36% to Rs 5,449.3 crore in the quarter amid volatile crude prices, but employee costs and other expenses grew slower than revenue at 12% and 10% respectively.
