The initial jobless claims slid to 191,000 in the week ended November 29th, a decrease of 27,000 from the previous week's revised level of 218,000.
The less volatile four-week moving average also fell to 214,750, a decrease of 9,500 from the previous week's revised average of 224,250.
Continuing claims slipped by 4,000 to 1.939 million in the week ended November 22nd.
The four-week moving average of continuing claims also dipped to 1,945,250, a decrease of 6,250 from the previous week's revised average of 1,951,500.
