Tata Consumer profit rises 28%, beats estimates

Tata Consumer Products reported a 27.8 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY27, while revenue grew nearly 12 percent, with both figures coming in ahead of Street expectations. The company's consolidated net profit stood at Rs 427 crore for the quarter ended June, compared with Rs 334 crore a year earlier, exceeding the estimate of Rs 410 crore.

Revenue from operations rose 11.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 5,348.8 crore from Rs 4,778.9 crore, marginally estimate of Rs 5,340 crore.

Tata Consumer Products' April-June quarter EBITDA increased 19.9 percent year-on-year to Rs 724 crore from Rs 604 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The figure was broadly in line with the CNBC-TV18 estimate of Rs 725 crore. The company's EBITDA margin improved to 13.5 percent from 12.7 percent a year ago, although it came in slightly below the estimate of 13.6 percent.

“We delivered yet another quarter of double-digit topline growth, backed by volume growth. Importantly, this translated to a consolidated net profit growth of 29%. The India branded business delivered robust underlying volume growth reflecting continued focus on execution, category expansion and innovation. Our ‘Growth’ businesses performed very well and have scaled their overall contribution to the India business," said  Managing Director & CEO, Sunil D’Souza.
